10·11 서울 강서구청장 보궐선거 참패로 예고된 대로 집권여당과 용산에 대한 민심이 일주일도 안 돼 싸늘해졌다. 특히 수도권 민심 이탈이 심각했다. 16일 공개된 정치 고관여층이 참여하는 자동응답(ARS) 방식의 리얼미터 조사에선 국민의힘 지지율이 윤석열 정부 출범 이후 최저치인 32%(더불어민주당 50.7%)로 떨어져 민주당과 격차가 강서구청장 선거 결과(17.15%포인트)보다 더 벌어졌다.
민심더싸늘해지는데감동없는김기현기이런 상황에서 김기현 국민의힘 대표가 발표한 이만희(재선·경북 영천-청도) 신임 사무총장 등 ‘김기현 2기 체제’ 주요 당직자 인선 결과는 ‘변화의 메시지’는커녕 ‘중량감’ ‘수도권 대표성’ 3박자 모두 미흡한 감동 없는 인사란 평가가 나왔다. “민심의 질책을 소중히 받들겠다”던 김 대표 본인의 약속과는 거꾸로 간 셈이다. 이에 여권 안팎에선 “내년 4·10 총선은 공천 등을 용산이 주도한다는 기조에 변화가 없다는 의미”란 말이 나왔다.
